Kate and Danny had such a fun, laid back day at The Transept. We loved the location of the venue, so we were close to Washington Park for photos. And Kate and Danny were both able to get ready at the Transept without the fear of seeing each other before their first look.

Kate and her bridesmaids had a room off of the loft area that overlooked the ceremony location. The industrial details of the venue looked so good with the elegant details Kate had chosen for the day. After I (Sarah) took some detail photos, I got to go down to the basement to photograph the guys getting ready. They had a cool, dark room for getting dressed and playing a little poker. Once all the guys were dressed, we moved up to the bar on the ground floor for them to have a quick toast to get the day started.

When it was time, I took Danny back up to the loft for the first look. Kate and Danny were so excited to see each other. The light in the loft was perfect for some portraits of the two of them before we gathered up the bridal party for their portraits. The whole group was so much fun, there was the continuous sound of laughter in the group.

Kate and Danny had a beautiful ceremony with simple decor. Then after family photos, we were ready to get the party really started with their reception. We had a great time watching Kate and Danny with their friends and family, and listening to the heartfelt toasts from their siblings. They had a wedding that was a perfect mix of elegant and fun and we’re so happy they chase us to be a part of the day!

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
